Bayern Munich are waiting to hear back from Athletic Bilbao as their protracted chase of Javi Martinez drags ever closer to deadline day.
Bayern have spent much of the summer pursuing the Spain international, but have yet to reach an agreement with his current employers.
Reports continue to suggest that a deal is close, with Bilbao ready to sanction a sale.
They are, however, holding out for the best possible price and will not let Martinez leave for less than they consider him to be worth.
Numerous bids are now believed to have been lodged and Bayern's sporting director Mattias Sammer admits the success of their latest approach now rests in the hands of Bilbao.
"I can say that it depends on Bilbao and that we can only react to what they do," he said.
"The transfer is not done.
"There is nothing new. Like me, they (Bilbao) will have read the same things and will have to take all of that in and then see what happens."
