Sky Sports understands Coventry City have made an enquiry for Nottingham Forest forward David McGoldrick.
Sky Blues boss Andy Thorn is keen to bolster his attacking options and has targeted a loan move for McGoldrick.
Forest are well-stocked in the forward department and Thorn is hoping they will allow him to take McGoldrick on loan.
McGoldrick has struggled to hold down a regular place in the Forest side and he was an unused substitute in last weekend's opening day win over Bristol City.
The 24-year-old could be keen on a move away in search of regular first-team football, but it depends if Coventry can agree a deal with Forest.
