Sky Sports sources understands Bristol City have agreed a fee with Queens Park Rangers for striker DJ Campbell.
Campbell, 30, struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at the west London club last season after suffering injury problems following his £1.2million move from Blackpool.
The Championship club have been looking to bolster their forward line ahead of the new season under manager Derek McInnes.
And now the much travelled forward, who has played for 10 clubs throughout his professional career, looks set for a move to Ashton Gate.
The Robins are understood to be firm favourites to land Campbell, who bagged just one goal for the Hoops last campaign.
Blackpool have been interested in re-signing Campbell but are unlikely to meet his wage demands, while Watford have also shown some interest.
