Sky Sports understands FC Twente are one of a number of clubs to make an enquiry for Manchester City's Dedryck Boyata.
Steve McClaren is hopeful of landing the Belgium international on a season-long loan but interest is high throughout Europe.
Boyata spent last season on loan at relegated Bolton, but he impressed and is wanted again in the Premier League.
But whilst City are receiving these enquiries, they are currently considering their options.
They are willing to let Boyata leave on loan but they want to bring in defensive cover first, and so are reluctant to let him leave until they have a new signing on board.
