Yannick Bolasie's agent has insisted his client has handed in a transfer request to Bristol City - who deny that is the case.
Bolasie is understood to have met Derek McInnes, at which point he reported to have informed him of his decision to leave.
However, Bristol City have issued a denial - a club spokesman said: "Whilst it is not the club's normal protocol to comment on speculation of this nature, we would like to reassure supporters this story is completely untrue."
But Bolasie's agent Tony Finnigan has released a statement to Sky Sports insisting that he has told the club of his desire to leave Ashton Gate.
He said: "I can confirm the player met his manager and handed in a transfer request, this was after he informed me yesterday, along with his parents, that he planned to do so.
"That said, no mater the outcome, he will, as he always has, be 100 per cent professional."
