Knee injury to keep keeper out for up to three months

The full extent of the knee injury suffered by Mark Ridgers on Scotland U21 duty has been revealed, with the Hearts keeper set for three months out. The promising shot-stopper was forced off during a meeting with Belgium on Tuesday. Scans have shown a tear in his posterior cruciate ligament, meaning a man set to start the season as second choice at Tynecastle is facing up to a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Manager John McGlynn told Hearts News: "I am gutted for the boy. It's the start of the season, he's been doing well and now he's looking at a minimum of 12 weeks out. "It is a blow for him and the club and we all wish him a speedy recovery. "Hearts will give him all the help and support we can to get him back fit as quickly as possible."
