Sky Sports understands Elliott Chamberlain has agreed a deal with Exeter City.
Wales Under-21 international striker Chamberlain is available on a free transfer after leaving Leicester City at the end of last season.
The 20-year-old spent pre-season on trial at St James Park, and after impressing manager Paul Tisdale in a number of games, they have moved to tie him down.
Chamberlain has now agreed terms and the versatile attacker is expected to go straight into the squad for this weekend's League Two opener against Morecambe.
