Fenerbahce have insisted there is no truth in reports suggesting they have made an offer for Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
Reports in Turkey on Wednesday suggested that the Dutch playmaker was on his way to the Sukru Saracoglu.
But the Super Lig runners-up subsequently released an official statement, which denied any formal approach for the 28-year-old Holland international.
Quoted on Tuttosport, the statement read: "In relation to what appeared in Aksam, we must point out it is not completely true that Fenerbahce are interested in Sneijder.
"Recent reports that have appeared in newspapers such as Aksam have been false.
"Every new signing will be announced through the club's official channels."
Sneijder signed a five-year contract extension with the Nerazzurri in 2010 but has been linked with a number of clubs this summer, including Real Madrid and big-spending Russians Anzhi Makhachkala.
