Scotland boss Craig Levein has named the starting XI he will send into action against Australia on Wednesday, with Jordan Rhodes selected as a lone frontman.

Levein has opted to go with a 4-5-1 formation, allowing him to try and control the game in midfield.

Rhodes will be left isolated up front, but the prolific Huddersfield striker has a habit of finding openings.

The prolific marksman will be making his first start against Australia, but he will not be overawed by the occasion.

He will be looking to grab his opportunity, as Scotland take in their final friendly before the 2014 World Cup qualifiers get underway.

Rookie Rhodes will be joined in Levein's side by a number of experienced internationals.

Allan McGregor will take his usual place in goal, behind a back four made up of Alan Hutton, Andy Webster, Christophe Berra and Danny Fox.

Gary Caldwell is set to anchor a midfield which includes Robert Snodgrass, James Morrison, Charlie Adam and Steven Naismith.
