Notts County manager Keith Curle has revealed that defender Kieron Freeman could be set to join his side from Nottingham Forest this summer.

Freeman had an impressive four-month loan stint with the Magpies last season and has been on their radar all summer.

Curle has already recruited full-backs Carl Regan and Tommy Williams and is now looking forward to adding one more defender to his squad.

"Negotiations are still on-going with Kieron and I've been led to believe that he may be made available," he said.

"What Nottingham Forest want (either a loan deal or permanent transfer), if they let him go will depend on the club and the division."

Curle also revealed that he is planning to sign two more players before the end of the summer transfer window.

"I'm still trying to bring in one more centre-back," he said. "It's a long season and we are going to have to deal with injuries and suspensions, so I need to make sure we are well equipped.

"We have to have the depth in our squad to deal with everything that is thrown at us."
