Millwall midfielder Liam Trotter is paying no attention to rumours about his future and expects to soon open talks regarding a new contract.
Trotter has been an influential figure for the Lions since joining from Ipswich Town in 2010 and he still has two years to run on his current deal.
Lions boss Kenny Jackett is keen to arrange a fresh contract for the 23-year-old, who has been linked with Premier League new boys Southampton.
Several top-flight clubs have been mooted as admirers of Trotter over the past 12 months, but he insists his sole focus is on a successful season with Millwall.
"Me and the club haven't spoken about it for a little while, we are just leaving it for pre-season to get out of the way and then we will start talking then," Trotter told News Shopper about a new contract.
"I don't really pay much attention to it (the rumours) to be honest. That is just paper talk as far as I'm concerned.
"For me it is about Millwall this season."
