Striker joins on season-long loan from Udinese

Watford have strengthened their squad with the signing of striker Alex Geijo from Udinese on a season-long loan deal. The 29-year-old has spent the past two years out on loan in Spain with Granada, scoring 26 goals in 60 appearances. He did struggle with injuries at the start of last term before returning to fitness and will now be looking to continue his progress at Vicarage Road. Geijo could be in contention to make his debut for the Hornets in Saturday's Capital One Cup tie against Wycombe. The Switzerland-born forward becomes the sixth player loaned by the Hornets from fellow Pozzo family-owned clubs Udinese and Granada. Defender Daniel Pudil and attacker Ikechi Anya have joined from Granada while midfielder Almen Abdi and forwards Steve Leo Beleck and Matej Vydra are on loan from Udinese.
