Baggies boss refuses to make any public claim

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has remained coy on the future of defender Jonas Olsson. The Sweden international has one year left on his current contract with the Premier League club and is said to be in discussion over a new deal. Clarke is hopeful that Olsson will commit himself to the Baggies beyond next summer, but refuses to count his chickens just yet. "Jonas has a year left on his contract and he understands that," he said. "I think he'll make decisions based on what's best for him and his family. Hopefully it's a positive decision for us." West Brom will begin their Premier League with a home game against Liverpool on Saturday 18th August.
