Defender looking forward to taking in regular football

Daniel Ayala is looking forward to challenging for a regular first-team role at Nottingham Forest after joining the Reds on a season-long loan. The Spain U21 international has completed a switch to the City Ground from Norwich City. He linked up with the Canaries following their promotion to the Premier League, but endured a frustrating debut campaign through injury. Ayala is now looking to get vital minutes under his belt with Forest.

Interest

He claims to have jumped at the chance to join the Reds, with Sean O'Driscoll in the process of piecing together a squad that intends to figure among the Championship frontrunners this season. "I'm really looking forward to starting to play and starting to train with the other lads," Ayala told the club's official website. "I found out about Forest's interest about three days ago when Norwich told me I wasn't going to be playing too much, so I decided the best thing to do was go on loan and play football. "I was a little bit disappointed at first because I want to play in the Premier League, but I know how big a club Forest is and I'm looking forward to playing for them."
