Santi Cazorla: Arsenal's new signing targets success at his new club
Arsenal's new signing Santi Cazorla has revealed a pep talk from Cesc Fabregas convinced him to join the Gunners.
Cazorla is the latest addition to Arsene Wenger's side and has joined for a fee thought to be around £16million.
The Spain international was part of his country's triumphant European Championship winning squads in 2008 and 2012.
However, he knows exactly what to expect when he links up with his new team-mates in Germany for their pre-season training camp after speaking with former Arsenal players.
"Everyone who has played here such as Robert Pires and Cesc Fabregas have spoken very highly about the club," the 27-year-old told Arsenal Player.
"I think it's one of the greatest clubs in Europe, it is always fighting for silverware and just for those reasons it is worth trying to play at this club and in the Premier League."
Wenger was previously linked to the talented attacker back in 2011 but Cazorla opted to remain in the Primera Liga and moved to Malaga.
However, the Gunners chief has now secured his man and his latest acquisition believes he can help bring success to Arsenal.
He added: "I am very happy to be here - it is a huge club. It is a great step forward in my career and I hope it will be a very good experience. I hope to win trophies here - that is what I want of course.
"I remember when I signed for Malaga [in 2011] there was already interest from Arsenal. It was always a club I liked very much."
