Sky Sports understands Nottingham Forest are eyeing a move for Doncaster Rovers midfielder James Coppinger.

Doncaster are resigned to losing Coppinger following their relegation to League One as they look to trim their wage bill.

Ipswich have expressed an interest in Coppinger, but Forest boss Sean O'Driscoll is keen to land the 31-year-old.

O'Driscoll is a huge fan of Coppinger having worked with him during his time in charge of Doncaster.

O'Driscoll has been busy in the transfer market reshaping the Forest squad since taking over at the City Ground and he sees Coppinger as a key addition to his plans.
