Dutch defender Ron Vlaar says it is a 'dream come true' to be at Aston Villa following his recent move from Feyenoord.
The 27-year-old arrived at Villa Park from the Eredivisie club on a three-year deal earlier this week and is looking forward to getting started.
The centre-back told Sky Sports: "For me it's a dream come true.
"If you look to the stadium it's fantastic. I used to play for a club that also has a very nice stadium and I look forward to playing in all the stadiums, and playing in Villa Park, I really look forward to that."
Vlaar was given the nickname 'Concrete' by his team-mates at Feyenoord and the stopper said: "I guess that's right.
"I had some injuries in the past and I trained very hard to come back. I did some muscle training and came back very strong and after that they gave me the nickname."
