Robins capture Harrad on loan

Cheltenham have secured the services of Bury striker Shaun Harrad on a season-long loan ahead of the upcoming season.

The 27-year-old is a proven goalscorer at League Two level, having notched 21 times for Burton three seasons ago. Since joining Bury last summer, Harrad has struggled to cement a regular first-team place and spent the second half of the season on loan at Rotherham, where he scored three times in eight games. Robins manager Mark Yates told the club's official website: "Sometimes things turn for you and we have been patient. Shaun has been on our radar for a very long time, but we didn't think we could get him. "We did enquire about him last year when he went back from Rotherham, but it all came from a chance conversation with one of my staff and Bury have been brilliant. "Shaun wants to be here for the season and be part of what we want to do and it was a no-brainer once we realised we could get him." Harrad told the Robins' official website: "I'm absolutely delighted to be here. I've been in training and the lads have made me feel very welcome. "It's all happened really quickly, but I'm looking forward to proving myself and getting myself back to my best."
