Nigel Pearson is confident new signing Anthony Knockaert will have an important part to play for Leicester City this season.
The Foxes are waiting to rubberstamp a deal for Knockaert after the French midfielder agreed a three-year contract earlier in the week.
The 20-year-old will be moving to the King Power Stadium from Guingamp and he has previously been linked with Newcastle United.
Benfica and Marseille were also reported to be admirers of Knockaert and Pearson confirmed that the player had been a long-term target.
Pearson is pleased to have set up a deal for Knockaert and is looking forward to seeing him make an impact in the Championship.
"He will bring an awful lot of quality and enthusiasm," said Pearson. "I am looking forward to him being a big part of our season.
"He is someone we have been watching for a while."
