Striker set for medical after deal agreed with Wolves

Sky Sports understands Wolves striker Sam Vokes is in talks with Burnley about a move to Turf Moor. Vokes has been a long-term target for Clarets boss Eddie Howe after a spell on loan at the club last season when he scored two goals in nine appearances. Wolves are willing to sell Vokes, who has only started four league games for the Molineux club since arriving from Bournemouth in 2008. The Wales international has taken in numerous loan spells during his time at Wolves and new boss Stale Solbakken is happy to let him leave on a permanent basis. Burnley manager Howe is keen to bolster his attacking options after selling star striker Jay Rodriguez earlier this summer and he is hopeful of bringing Vokes to Turf Moor. Vokes is believed to have linked up with the Burnley squad at their training camp in Bath to hold talks and undergo a medical as he looks to seal a switch to the Lancashire outfit.
