Iron bemoan Mozika injury

Scunthorpe United midfielder Damien Mozika is set to miss the first three months of the League One season through injury.

The Frenchman, who joined the Iron last summer, endured a stop-start first campaign with the club. He was blighted by a niggling ankle problem that restricted him to just 19 appearances in his debut season at Glanford Park. And after missing the first four pre-season games, Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill revealed that Mozika has undergone an operation as he bids to cure the injury for good. "Damo had an operation on Friday," Knill told the club's official website. "We have been told three months but we are hopeful that it will be much sooner. "It was felt that once he had seen the specialist we needed to get him operated on sooner rather than later and get it sorted once and for all. "It's strange because I had him at Bury and he never had an injury. Then he comes here and has never really been right. Alex (Dalton, club physio) has told me its called a lapse ankle.
