Sky Sports understands Pascal Chimbonda is attracting interest from Al Hilal and CSKA Moscow.
The 33-year-old is a free agent after his short-term deal at Doncaster Rovers expired at the end of last season.
Wealthy Arab club Al Hilal have sounded out the defender about a lucrative switch to the Middle East.
And CSKA have also lodged their interest in the former France international, as both sides look to reinforce their back lines with an experienced defender before the start of the campaign.
However, after spending the last seven seasons playing in England, the cavalier full-back is keen to remain in this country.
The former Wigan and Tottenham defender still believes he has the quality to compete at the highest level and is prepared to wait for a new challenge in the British Isles.
