Ivorian midfielder leaves Sevilla as a free agent

Ivory Coast international Romaric has been granted a free transfer by Sevilla, allowing him to link up with Real Zaragoza. The 29-year-old midfielder becomes the third Ivorian to head through the exits at Sevilla this summer, following the departures of Didier Zokora and Arouna Kone. The Primera Liga outfit are in the middle of a rebuilding programme and have agreed a settlement with Romaric which releases him from their books. "Christian Koffi Ndri Romaric is totally disconnected from Sevilla FC following an agreement between the player and the club," read a brief statement released on the club's official website. "Now the Ivorian midfielder will play for Real Zaragoza, under the command of coach Manolo Jimenez, who had the player in his ranks during his time in charge of Sevilla."

Offers

Romaric has spent the last four years in Spain, having joined Sevilla from Le Mans in 2008, and he is looking forward to opening a new chapter in his career. "I am delighted to come to Zaragoza," he said. "For the next two years I will play my football here and hope to enjoy it. "I need a big season with Zaragoza and I am looking forward to that. "I had many offers but Zaragoza gave me the most assurance and their project has convinced me to join them."
