Capello reveals anger at FA

Fabio Capello used his first press conference as Russia boss to attack the English Football Association for interfering with his work.

I couldn't bear the interference, admits former England boss

Fabio Capello used his first press conference as Russia boss to attack the English Football Association for interfering with his work. The former England boss was officially appointed as the new manager of Russia on Thursday for an initial period of two years. He had previously indicated that the England role would be his last in management but things came to an abrupt halt when Capello found himself at odds with the FA over John Terry. The 66-year-old Italian was ordered not to select the Chelsea defender as his captain after Terry was charged with racially abusing Anton Ferdinand - although the player was later acquitted. And Capello spoke openly about his rage at such interference from the English authorities. "I was really angry with the FA interference in my work. I could not bear it," said Capello. "I resigned and wanted to retire completely but the desire to win a place in the World Cup finals with a national side remained. "It made me change my mind and accept the RFU proposal. It is my main goal and I want to make it happen."
