Sky Sports understands former Dundee United midfielder Scott Robertson is undergoing a medical at Championship club Blackpool.
Robertson is available on a free transfer after his contract at Tannadice expired and he rejected the offer of an extension.
He made over 120 appearances during his time with United after joining the club from city rivals Dundee in 2008.
The 27-year-old was linked with a move to Birmingham City, but he is now closing in on a switch to their play-off semi-final conquerors from last season.
Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is busy assembling a squad capable of making another push for promotion and is understood to be closing in on a deal for Robertson.
Holloway has already made one recruit from the SPL this summer after completing a deal last week to sign midfielder Isaiah Osbourne from Hibernian.
