Shamrock Rovers have been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Lithuanian outfit Ekranas.
Following a goalless draw in Dublin last week, it was all to play for in the second leg of their second qualifying round clash at Aukstaitija Stadium on Tuesday night.
But despite the Irish side holding their own in the first half, they fell behind to Marko Andjelkovic's strike on the stroke of half-time.
Rovers' hopes looked to have gone when Zilvinas Kymantas scored a second for the hosts in the 63rd minute.
Although Gary McCabe narrowed the deficit after a handball in the area in the second minute of injury time, it came too little, too late.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon was in Iceland to see KR Reykjavik play HJK Helsinki, with the Finnish side winning 2-1 for a 9-1 aggregate success which sets up a trip to Parkhead next week in the first leg of the third qualifying round.
