Former Sunderland loanee John Mensah is set to join Celtic, according to reports in his homeland Ghana. The 29-year-old centre-back is a free agent after leaving French side Lyon, for whom he made just one league appearance last season. Reports in Ghana suggest Bordeaux and Trabzonspor are also interested in Mensah. But the much-travelled Ghanaian, who has made more appearances for his country than for any one club, insists he is in no rush to commit his future. "I am not in a hurry to sign for any team," he said. "I have to think and make a choice, the right choice. "Celtic? They have a great history and have the greatest fans in the world, so they are appealing to any player. "Like I said, there are many teams calling but I am relaxed and not in a hurry."
