Nikola Zigic: Blues striker has only one objective heading into the new season

Birmingham striker Nikola Zigic has tipped his team to reach the Premier League this season.

The Serbia international was part of the Blues squad that reached the play-offs last season, despite a multitude of problems at the club.

However, new boss Lee Clark has managed to add some players to the squad which has led Zigic to declare they can go one better this season.

"We know what's expected of us coming up to the start of the Championship," Zigic told the Birmingham Mail.

"We have got a great team and we have acquired some great players and obviously the new manager as well.

"With a bit of luck and if things go for us, I really do feel this could be our year, with everybody we have got, to reach the Premier League.

"Certainly, the squad of players we have got and the ones who have come along, we are good enough and well equipped to get into and handle the Premier League."
