Sochaux have announced that a deal has been agreed for the signing of Ishmael Yartey on a four-year contract from Benfica.
The midfielder has arrived in eastern France on Friday and is due to undergo a medical over the weekend before officially putting pen to paper, according to the club's official website.
The 22-year-old Ghanaian joined Benfica in 2009 but failed to make a breakthrough into the first team and was loaned out several times.
He impressed during a spell with Servette in Geneva, Switzerland, where he scored eight times in 31 matches last season.
Yartey will now be looking to continue his development at Sochaux, who finished 14th in Ligue 1 in 2011/12.
