Dave Whelan admits Wigan have a number of targets they can turn to if Victor Moses is lured away from the DW Stadium.
The Latics chairman is reluctant to part with Moses, but has conceded that he will not stand in the 21-year-old's way if the right offer comes along.
Wigan are looking for £10million and have informed Chelsea - the club leading the transfer chase - that they will only accept a cash deal.
Bringing funds into the club will allow boss Roberto Martinez to strengthen, with any fee likely to be pumped back into the squad.
The Latics will also look to replace one promising talent with another, with the club proud of their reputation for nurturing players of potential.

Whelan insists they will look to tread that path again if Moses does move on, with their scouting system having already unearthed a couple of hidden gems.
"Obviously we will have to try and replace him, which will be very difficult," Whelan told Sky Sports News HD when asked if the Latics had replacements for Moses in mind.
"But Roberto being what he is, he is such a good finder of young players. He is always looking around and the scouts are always looking for quality youngsters at the age of 19 or 20.
"We have got a couple on the radar."
