Serie B club Brescia have announced the signing of former Chelsea youth-team forward Marko Mitrovic.
The Swedish former Malmo player was a free agent this summer after leaving the Blues following the end of his contract.
Mitrovic had showed signs of promise after joining Chelsea's Academy in 2008, but a serious ankle ligament injury decimated his 2010/11 season.
Fitness problems continued to plague the 20-year-old for the rest of his time in England, however, Brescia have been prepared to offer him a new start.
A statement on the Italian club's
official website read: "Brescia announces it has completed its agreement to acquire the rights to Marko Mitrovic."
Opportunities
Another youngster could also be leaving Chelsea, with promising goalkeeper Sam Walker, who last season spent time at Northampton and Yeovil, keen on another loan move.
"Chelsea want to take a look at me now to see how I've progressed, and then I think the aim is to get back out on loan again," he told the
Fulham Chronicle.
"Come the start of the season, we'll see what opportunities arise. Last year, I only spent four days at Chelsea before I went out on loan for the whole of last season and it was an excellent experience for me.
"As a goalkeeper, it's entirely different to the other players because goalkeepers tend to develop quite late so there's less rush.
"I've got a good contract - I signed a two-and-a-half-year deal in January and I'm comfortable with my situation. I've got time on my side."
