Sky Sports understands that Huddersfield are leading the race to sign defender Anthony Gerrard from Cardiff.
It is thought that Gerrard could be surplus to requirements in the Welsh capital this season after surprisingly struggling to hold down a regular place in Malky Mackay's starting XI last term.
He remains very highly regarded and a number of clubs, including Blackburn, have been linked with a move for the 26-year-old.
But it is Huddersfield who are believed to be in pole position to secure his signature, as Simon Grayson prepares for life in the Championship after winning promotion last season.
If a deal for Gerrard can be agreed it would be a major coup for the Terriers, as he would bring with him plenty of experience.
Gerrard has been at Cardiff since 2009 and has also had spells with a number of other clubs including Hull City and Everton.
