Whittingham has been a target for a number of Premier League clubs after impressing for Cardiff over the last few seasons.
The 27-year-old, who joined Cardiff from Aston Villa in January 2007, is under contract at the Cardiff City Stadium until 2014 and the club are keen to keep hold of him.
