Reading have signed central defender Adrian Mariappa from Watford on a three-year contract, according to Sky Sports News.
The 25-year-old Jamaica international has joined the Premier League new boys after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
Mariappa had been at Watford since May 2005 and made 247 appearances during his seven seasons with the Hornets.
Royals boss Brian McDermott, backed by new owner Anton Zingarevich, has now strengthened his squad in all departments this summer.
Russia striker Pavel Pogrebnyak, left-back Nicky Shorey and midfield duo Garath McCleary and Danny Guthrie have all arrived at the Madejski Stadium in recent weeks.
