Sky Sports understands several clubs at home and abroad are eyeing moves for former Queens Park Rangers defender Danny Gabbidon.
Wales international Gabbidon is a free agent after seeing out his contract at QPR earlier this summer.
Gabbidon made 19 appearances for Rangers last season after joining the club from West Ham last summer.
Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest and Watford are all thought to have expressed an interest in signing the 32-year-old.
Owls boss Dave Jones is a long-term admirer of Gabbidon having tried to sign him during his time in charge of Cardiff, while new Watford boss Gianfranco Zola worked with Gabbidon during his time in charge of West Ham.
Nottingham Forest are in the market for defensive reinforcements having seen Luke Chambers and Joel Lynch both leave the club for pastures new this summer.
A number of foreign sides, including teams from America and Australia, are also thought to be keeping tabs on Gabbidon's situation.
