Jones brings in Slovenia midfielder after impressing on trial

Sheffield Wednesday have signed Slovenia international midfielder Nejc Pecnik, subject to international clearance. As revealed by Sky Sports last week, Wednesday were preparing to sign Pecnik after he impressed on trial. The 26-year-old arrives at Hillsborough on a free transfer after leaving Portuguese club CD Nacional and he has signed a two-year deal. Owls boss Dave Jones believes Pecnik will be a valuable addition to his squad for next season. "This is a good signing for us. Nejc came over for a trial and we liked what we saw," said Jones "He is a versatile lad, he has experience and is an international player. I'm looking forward to working with him."

Delighted

Pecnik is relishing the chance of playing for Wednesday, admitting it was an easy choice to make. "Sheffield Wednesday is a club of great tradition and I am delighted to sign," noted Pecnik. "The deal was done really quickly after a trial at the club and it was an easy agreement to make the deal. "My goal is to show myself in a good way for Sheffield Wednesday and build on the experience I already have."
