Anyon hails squad bonding

Shrewsbury's Joe Anyon insists last week's pre-season training was good in allowing the new signings to gel with the squad.

Anyon is one of nine new faces among Graham Turner's squad, which will be looking to hold their own in League One following promotion, and the goalkeeper believes the two-day exercise in Shropshire has provided plenty of positives. "It was hard work and it was intense. They were long days but overall it was about team building," he told the club's official website. "We had problem solving exercises which all the team did very well with and we all bonded very well. "It was always going to be two days of hell but we went there for a reason and that was to hit the ground running when the season comes. "It was a great way for the new lads to bond with the lads who were here last year. It was overall a good exercise. It was about togetherness and everyone dug in and did well."
