Macklin makes Bulls impact

Torquay winger Lloyd Macklin was on target for Hereford as the first match of his two-game trial spell ended in a 1-1 draw against Yeovil.

Macklin has been told he is surplus to requirements at Plainmoor but got off to a flying start for the Bulls, who are now playing non-league football after being relegated from League Two. Gulls boss Martin Ling told the club's official website: "I spoke with Lloyd and told him the situation hasn't changed, so let's try and get something sorted. "Hereford came in and asked Lloyd to play two games for them on a trial basis in pre-season. It doesn't mean he won't come back here but Hereford want to have a look at him. "I have said before that Lloyd needs a reality check and even though it sounds cruel, I am actually trying to be kind by telling him he has stood still for the last few years."
