Kilbane feels home at Sky Blues

Kilbane: Happy at Coventry City

Experienced flanker Kevin Kilbane says he decided to join Coventry this summer because he believes in the team's potential.

Kilbane signed for the Sky Blues on a free transfer after leaving his player-coaching role at Hull at the end of last season.

The 35-year-old left-sided player has revealed he turned down a number of other opportunities because he is convinced Coventry can enjoy a successful campaign.

"I've come to a really good club and I'm really looking forward to getting it going next season," Kilbane told the club's official website. "I spoke to a number of clubs over the summer about various roles but Coventry just really appealed to me.

"I know that the club has dropped down to League One but I have been really impressed with the side. The core of the team has a lot of potential and with the squad being quite young as well, the future is looking good.

"I have been brought in as part of seeing that potential through and I really feel like I'm going to be part of something successful next season and I am more than confident we can achieve this year."
