Sky Sports understands that Blackburn are in talks with Steve Davies as they look to bring the Derby striker to Ewood Park.
Davies was placed on the transfer list at the end of last season after turning down the offer of a new contract due to family reasons.
He has been with the Rams for the past four years and enjoyed a particularly productive campaign last season, finishing as the club's joint top scorer.
Blackburn have now been alerted to his availability and are believed to have identified the 24-year-old as somebody they would like to snap up.
Steve Kean has already been busy strengthening his squad this summer, having recruited the likes of Leon Best, Danny Murphy and Portuguese duo Nuno Gomes and Fabio Nunes.
Rovers could face competition for Davies, though, as it is understood that Ipswich are also keen to strike a deal.
