Carlisle striker Paddy Madden is confident Greg Abbott's side can mount another play-off challenge in League One next season.
Irishman Madden, who missed the first half of last season due to an ankle injury, believes the Cumbrians can improve on the eighth-placed finish they managed last term.
"We were unlucky with injuries last season, so if we can avoid that kind of thing I think we're in with a real chance this year," Madden told the club's official website.
"We've got a lot of great players in the squad already and the gaffer has added a bit of experience so that's going to help us as well.
"At the moment it's all about working towards our first game at Kendal on Friday night now and that's one I think we're all looking forward to. We haven't seen a ball for a while so it will be nice to be out there and amongst it."
Abbott has so far added former Notts County defender Mike Edwards and striker Danny Cadamarteri, from Huddersfield, to his squad.
