Sky Sports understands Tottenham have tabled a bid for highly-rated Nottingham Forest defender Jamaal Lascelles.
Lascelles is well regarded at Forest and he made his debut for the club against Burnley in January.
A host of top Premier League clubs have been keeping tabs on Lascelles after catching the eye at Forest.
Lascelles also impressed during a loan spell at Stevenage at the back end of last season, helping them reach the League One play-off semi-finals.
The 18-year-old is entering the final year of his contract at the City Ground and Forest could find it hard to reject a big-money offer for the classy centre-back.
Tottenham are hoping to steal a march on their Premier League rivals by tabling a firm offer for the stopper and are waiting to hear back from Forest.
Any possible deal has been held up by the upheaval at Forest with the club currently in the middle of a takeover by wealthy Kuwait family the Al-Hasawis, but Spurs are keen to win the race for Lascelles by luring him to White Hart Lane.
