Sky Sports sources understands Wolves have made an approach to bring Hamburg defender Michael Mancienne back to the club.

The 24-year-old has already had three loan stints at Molineux during his time at Chelsea, but signed a four-year deal with the German giants last summer.

Wolves boss Stale Solbakken is believed to have spoken with Hamburg's sporting director Frank Arnesen, formerly of Chelsea, about Mancienne's availability.

The former England Under-21 international has also had two loan spells at Queens Park Rangers earlier in his career, but Hamburg thought only to be interested in a permanent deal as they look to finance reinforcements.
