Wilson keen on former Cumbrians striker

Sky Sports understands Sheffield United are lining up a move for former Carlisle striker Francois Zoko. Zoko is available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Brunton Park earlier this summer. The 28-year-old rejected Carlisle's offer of a new deal and a number of clubs have expressed an interest in the Ivorian's services. Zoko impressed at Carlisle after arriving in the summer of 2010 and is regarded as one of the best talents outside the top two leagues. Preston are thought to have held talks with Zoko, but the player rejected their overtures. Sheffield United are now hoping to lure Zoko to Bramall Lane as Danny Wilson looks to build a squad capable of winning promotion after falling at the play-off final last term. Wilson has made a new striker one of his top priorities this summer and he sees Zoko as a key addition to his plans.
