Striker signs three-year Internacional deal after leaving Inter

Diego Forlan has agreed to join Brazilian side Internacional on a three-year deal after his contract with Inter Milan was cancelled. The Uruguay striker had a further season to run on his contract with Inter after joining the Serie A side from Atletico Madrid last summer. However, he is heading back to South America after Internacional confirmed the 33-year-old had accepted a contract until 2015. A statement from Internacional read: "Diego Forlan is the new reinforcement of Internacional. The Uruguay player is in Milan and will arrive in Porto Alegre on Saturday. "The player will be unveiled tomorrow." Forlan joined the Nerazzurri 12 months ago from Atletico, but endured a frustrating, injury-plagued campaign, scoring two goals in 22 appearances. He had dismissed talk of a move to Internacional as 'just rumours' earlier this week, but has now opted for a fresh start with the Brazilian club.
