Watford have officially confirmed the departure of Sean Dyche as manager following the recent takeover of the club by the Pozzo family.
Sky Sports reported earlier this week that Dyche had left his position at Vicarage Road following a meeting with the new owners.
The Pozzos had also confirmed an intention to bring in former Chelsea striker Gianfranco Zola and have offered their gratitude to Dyche for his efforts.
"On behalf of the club, the Pozzo family acknowledges that Sean's positive contribution to Watford FC dates back long before his appointment as manager in June 2011," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The Pozzo family also recognises Sean's impeccable conduct, representing the Hornets with honour and dignity at all times.
"His achievements under difficult circumstances mean that he will rightly be held in high regard by Watford supporters.
"Everyone at the club extends their warmest wishes to Sean for the future."
Dyche took over as Watford manager 12 months ago after Malky Mackay left for Cardiff City and he guided the club to an 11th placed finish in the Championship.
