Sky Sports understands Notts County have made an enquiry for Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Michael Spillane.
Spillane impressed for Dagenham last season, winning a permanent deal in January after initially joining the club on loan.
The 23-year-old scored four goals in 33 appearances last season and his performances did not go unnoticed higher up the league.
Magpies boss Keith Curle is an admirer of the former Norwich man and sees him as a key addition to his plans for next season.
Dagenham would be reluctant to lose the versatile performer, but they could face a fight to keep him with the lure of League One football on offer at Meadow Lane.
