Blackburn boss Steve Kean has expressed his delight at the signing of Leon Best from Newcastle.
The former Southampton trainee completed a £3million move to Ewood Park on Monday, penning a four-year deal.
The 25-year-old is Rovers' second signing in the space of a week following the capture of Danny Murphy on a free transfer from Fulham.
Kean revealed he has long been an admirer of Best's talents and is pleased to have wrapped up deals for his two prime transfer targets so quickly.
"I had identified Leon Best and Danny Murphy as two major targets so to be able to secure both of them inside a week is a massive plus for us," Kean told the club's official website.
"I've known Leon since his time at Coventry City and he is a proven striker from the Premier League and also knows exactly what it takes to be successful in the Championship.
"So we are delighted to add Leon to the squad."
