Carl Ikeme plans to impress new Wolves boss Stale Solbakken and make the No.1 shirt at Molineux his own this season.
With Wayne Hennessey sidelined until September through injury the 26-year-old is facing a straight fight with Dorus de Vries to fill the gap.
And Ikeme, who spent time at Middlesbrough and Doncaster on loan last season, believes everyone is starting with a clean slate under the new manager.
"The new manager has come in," Ikeme told the Birmingham Mail. "It's a brave appointment by the board as he wasn't too well known over here but it's exciting times for the club.
Clean slate
"I don't know what his ideas are yet looking forward - and that goes for all of us.
"But I suppose it is a clean slate for everyone and my plan is obviously to kick on and be No.1.
"Maybe Stale Solbakken will see things in me that previous managers have not seen, or vice versa. All managers have their own preferences. It's a new start for everybody.
"The contract I signed last year has given me security and it also has given me an insight they want me to be at the club.
"Obviously I want to be playing and, with knowing they want me here, hopefully I can make it happen and start playing regularly."
