Italian wanted in Middle East

Fabrizio Miccoli will join Dubai-outfit Al Nasr if his club Palermo agree to the move, according to the player's agent. Miccoli's contract with the Rosanero is set to expire in 12 months time but the 33 year-old's agent revealed that the striker is keen on a move to the UAE this summer. "The situation is in progress because it is very important for my client to continue his career in Dubai over the next two years. This transfer is now in this moment firmly in the mind of my player and all looks good," Francesco Caliandro confirmed to Sport 360. "From our side it is a yes, and there is a very high probability that the deal will go through very soon, but a lot depends on Palermo. "There are conditions on his contract with Palermo, but from Al Nasr's side everything is ok." Al Nasr board member Abdullah Al Bannai played down the talks but admitted that negotiations are still ongoing. "Regarding Miccoli, we are still discussing terms with his agent but still we haven't signed a contract. We are in talks with the player to discuss if he has a chance to play for Al Nasr," he said. "(Former Palermo manager and current head coach) Walter Zenga has personally asked for this player, but we don't know whether he will come or not, we are not very sure." Miccoli has reportedly passed a medical and will sign a one-year deal with the UAE side once both clubs agree on a transfer fee.
